Norman Dean Triples Cup

The Competitions Maestro (our friend George above) performed his usual magic in composing and conducting the match for the Norman Dean Triples Celtic Quaich Bowl

This competition was renamed as the Norman Dean Triples in memory of Norman who was our General Secretary for many years and our Deputy President in the year of his death

As you can see the weather threatened and storms were avoided, but the match went through its round robin stage without a drop of the wet stuff – from the sky that is!

The round robin stage gave us the semi finalists who then fought it out for 6 ends with the teams led by Trevor Green, with Enid Hartill and John Flowerdew supporting and Dennis Coltman ably helped by Bruce Thompson and Peter Harrison going through to the final.

The match included the umpire (our president) spending much time on his knees measuring as all ends proved to be tight except for end 5 when one team scored 5

All came down to the final end – which again needed a measure to conclude a grand afternoon for all – with all the wet stuff going inside us not on us. A strange experience. The winning team was declared as Trevor, Enid and John. This competition was the second of the 3 so far this year with a lady champion – well done Enid who was clapped by her husband George through out the semi and final

The 2 team received their commemorative coasters and the winners the Celtic Quaich Bowl
