In the summer of 2021 it was not always as hot and at times sticky like 2022 turned out to be – at times we were subject to very heavy long downpours of rain. On one occasion the green became a lake – what was the date this happened?
The photos show the green during the down pour which happened around 3.10 pm on Friday 9thJuly 2021 – the P&DP due to start at 4pm was cancelled due to lack of boats!
One lesson learnt was the need to clear the ditches of built-up silt and gravel and replace with sponge rubber matting which doesn’t block the drainage holes. The Lake has never re-appeared yet – fingers crossed!
